One of the most frequent questions among users is what are the hours and dates in which banks close their doors . The Association of Banks of Mexico (ABM) reported that the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV) establishes non-business days in the financial sector, that is, on Thursday, April 1 and Friday, April 2, bank branches will remain closed. However, those that are inside shopping centers and supermarkets will be open habitually.
The ABM reminds that although they are holidays, the more than 56 thousand ATMs will be at your disposal, as well as 49 thousand bank correspondents ; as well as digital banking and electronic banking, which operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Does your payment deadline fall on those days? The agency also mentions that according to the Law for Transparency and Ordering of Financial Services, if the payment deadline corresponds to a non-business day, it can be made the next business day, without any consequence. Therefore, you can pay on Monday, April 5.
Other dates on which banks will be closed for the remainder of 2021:
- September 16: Mexican Independence Day
- November 2: Celebration of the Day of the Dead
- November 15: Revolution Day (November 20)
- Saturdays and Sundays
