Your Richest Life turns nine this month! I can’t believe we are almost at the ten year mark.
When I started this business, I wanted to create financial planning services that were accessible and empowering. I hoped to help my clients reach their financial goals in a way that wasn’t stressful or intimidating, and to show them that their dreams were possible. I’ve learned so much over the past nine years, but I couldn’t have gotten here without the clients who trusted me along the way.
To date, I have worked with more than 170 families, been quoted in dozens of articles, and spoken to several groups about improving their finances and planning for their futures.
I was honored to receive D Magazine’s Best Financial Planners in Dallas award for the eighth year in a row. I am so thankful to have been nominated for this award, and I feel very lucky to call many of the planners on this list my friends and colleagues.
When I’m not working with clients or spending time with family, I enjoy singing with Credo, a Dallas-based community choir and volunteering with the Friends of Rowlett Animals animal rescue. I also spend time offering financial counseling for women with the Gatehouse group, a local group that helps women dealing with hardships as they work toward permanent change.
My family and I had lots of fun traveling this year, too. We just got back from an amazing week in Europe, where we visited Derby, England; Lake Como, Italy; and Cinque Terre, Italy.
Earlier in the year, we visited family in Austin, TX for Christmas. This year was special, as it was the last holiday I spent with my grandfather. He passed this spring at 98 years old. He was a veteran and a business owner, and was a big inspiration for me in opening my own business. I’m so grateful to have had all the time I did with him.
Over spring break I went skiing with my husband and daughter in Breckenridge.
In June, I went on a choir trip to Argentina and Uruguay, where we spent time performing, touring the sites, and eating delicious food.
And later this year, I’ll be heading off to Lake Tahoe with other financial planners. It’s been a fun, busy year!
Your Richest Life by the Numbers
Here are some of the highlights of my eight years in business:
-Worked with over 170 families to date
-Working with over 45 families on an ongoing basis
-Writing more than 200 blog posts for my own website
-Listed as a D Magazine Best Financial Planner for the eighth year in a row
As a fee-only financial planner, I am committed to helping my clients achieve overall financial well-being. I love the work I do because I get to work with my awesome clients while still having the freedom to give back to the community and spend time with my family.
As always, I want to thank my husband and my daughter for supporting me at every step along the way. They are my biggest supporters, and I couldn’t do it without them.
I am so fortunate to be surrounded by friends and mentors in the industry who are willing to offer a helping hand, a new idea or a different perspective along the way.
And of course, thank you to my clients for trusting me with your questions, your dreams and your fears. I have been honored to work with so many amazing people from the beginning. I am looking forward to what this year has in store for Your Richest Life.
