Six years ago this month, Your Richest Life was born. I didn’t know then where it would take me or if it would work out. But after six years in business, I can tell you it has been one of my most rewarding experiences so far.
I’ve worked with hundreds of clients, spoken at dozens of events, and been interviewed for several podcasts and articles. I’ve hired a team. I’ve celebrated plenty of wins and losses and learned a lot along the way.
And I can’t wait to see where the next year takes me.
Here are some of the highlights of my six years in business:
- Working with over 130 families to date
- Working with over 40 families on an ongoing basis
- Expanded the Your Richest Life team
- Contributing to websites and publications like Business Insider, CBS News and Nerdwallet
- Adding more videos to my YouTube channel
- Writing more than 140 blog posts for my own website
This year has been a bit different for everyone because of the Coronavirus pandemic. Like many of you, the plans I had for 2020 quickly changed. Instead of traveling and attending conferences, I’ve stayed close to home with my family.
However, we did get to visit Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon in March before the lockdown.
My daughter will be starting fifth grade this year, and she enjoyed attending art camp and coding camp this summer. Last fall, she also participated in the “I Write Short Stories by Kids for Kids” writing contest. She was one of 100 students from grades 3 to 12 whose stories were chosen for publication.
We all had fun attending the celebratory luncheon!
My husband continues to be happy in his work as an aerospace engineer. They are both my biggest cheerleaders!
I’ve continued to grow my team this year and look for new ways to add value for my clients. Regardless of what’s going on in the world, my mission remains the same: to help my clients have the guidance and resources they need to build the life of their dreams.
As a fee-only financial planner, my commitment is to helping my clients achieve overall financial well-being. The work can be challenging, but it gives me the flexibility to work with the clients I really feel I can help, while still having the freedom to give back to the community and spend time with my family.
I want to extend a big thank-you to my husband and my daughter, my two biggest supporters, for always being in my corner. They are the reason I’ve been able to stay the course and grow my business over the past six years. I am also blessed to be surrounded by friends and mentors in the industry who have been kind enough to lend a helping hand or a new perspective along the way.
And of course, thank you to my clients for trusting me with your questions, your dreams and your fears. I have been honored to work with so many amazing people from the beginning. I am looking forward to what this year has in store for Your Richest Life.
P.S. – Check out the recaps from years one, two, three, four and five in business.
