The Cushing’s connection

The cortisol face kernel of truth? It’s based on a real medical condition called Cushing’s syndrome, where your body produces too much cortisol over a long period of time. Cushing’s syndrome is rare, affecting about 40 to 70 people out of every million. This means getting Cushing’s from everyday stress is about as likely as developing abs from laughing at cat videos (which I’ve tried extensively with no luck).
